Raheem Sterling

According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Manchester United are hoping to sign Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling at the reduced cost of £25million.

The Reds could be forced to cash in on the 2014 Golden Boy winner this summer after persistently refusing to extend his Anfeld contract past 2017.

The wantaway winger revealed in a candid interview with BBC Sport earlier this season that he’s already rejected a £100k per-week deal, whilst renegade agent Aidy Ward recently informed the Evening Standard that his client ‘wouldn’t sign for £900k per-week’ – as This Is Futbol revealed last month.

That’s lead to widespread interest in the England international from across the continent. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City were all linked last month, as reported by This Is Futbol, whilst Real Madrid and Manchester United have also emerged as potential suitors – according to reports on May 28th.

According to Mirror Football, Liverpool value Sterling at around £50million – which only Manchester City or Real Madrid can likely afford this summer.

But Manchester United are hoping to test the Mersey outfit’s resolve with a £25million bid, which is expected to be tabled within the next few days.
