With the 2014/15 Premier League campaign drawing to a close, silly season – that magical time of year when every transfer rumour seems somehow plausible – is well underway.

We’ve got rumours of West Ham appointing ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp as their next manager, speculative reports suggesting Diego Costa wants to quit Chelsea to rejoin Atletico Madrid and audacious claims of Sepp Blatter stepping down as Fifa president. Wait… that last one actually happened.

It’s got the writers here at This Is Futbol a little excited – a little too excited quite frankly. And what do we do when we’re excited at TIF? We make a list article with a slightly outlandish title.

Which brings us onto today’s content; The TEN most outrageous signings Manchester United could make this summer. Some are former Red Devils, a few belong to their bitter rivals and many have completely ridiculous price-tags.

But all would leave you spewing out your morning coffee over your poor pet cat if they actually turned up at Old Trafford ahead of next season.

    Haha nice list.

I personally would be outraged if Man Utd were to sign Varane, I’d be bloody furious in fact!

I don’t think I’d be particularly outraged about Pogba; they have Champions League football, enough money, fills a gap in their midfield (sort of) and he’s played for them before. Most of that applies to Bale too, in fact I was quite surprised Man Utd wasn’t his destination when he left Tottenham.

Lloris would probably be the least outrageous signing of the summer. Although that might be because I’d be busy laughing at Tottenham (then again they’d soon shut me up if they signed Cech in turn, in fact I’d be sick on the floor).

I’d have added a couple of absolutely stupid/comedy signings though; Man Utd signing Peter Crouch or Joey Barton would be pretty outrageous!
