Three Leeds players Christiansen must axe

|

Andy Lonergan

Summer signing Andy Lonergan produced a few solid displays after replacing Wiedwald in goal but he is not the answer to Leeds’ goalkeeper problem. The limited 32-year-old is as nervous as a kitten with the ball at his feet and his shot-stopping is not good enough to compensate. In truth, he is miles out of his depth for a promotion-chasing side. It should not be forgotten that United kept six clean sheets in a row with Wiedwald in goal and he looks a better option than the former Wolves man. Musical chairs in the keeper role is never a good thing, but the German should be restored to the starting XI.
