Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that defender Cody Drameh could be set to leave Leeds United this summer.

What’s the latest on Cody Drameh’s situation at Leeds?

Drameh joined Leeds’ U21 setup from Fulham in 2020 and has since spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Cardiff and is currently spending the second half of this season at Luton Town.

The 21-year-old has impressed in the Championship and is currently the Hatters’ most consistent performer with an average match rating of 7.38 despite only arriving in January – as per WhoScored.

His performances last year were hailed as “phenomenal” by then Cardiff manager Steve Morrison.

The Hatters currently sit third in the Championship and look comfortable set for a playoff spot. This means there is a real possibility that they could replace Drameh’s parent club Leeds in the top-flight, where they sit in 16th – just two points above the relegation zone.

The 5 foot 7 right-back has one more season to run on his contract at Elland Road, and the club may want to cash in whilst his stock is high rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

What did Jones say about Drameh?

When asked about Dramah and his future, Jones confirmed there was a chance he would leave Leeds in the summer.

On Drameh’s future, the journalistĀ  told GIVEMESPORT:

It’s looking like he wants to see what else is possible for him next season and see what doors will open. It sounds like he might even have a potential offer on the table, so I think he’s probably a potential exit.”

What does the future hold for Drameh?

Figures within the Whites hierarchy reportedly believe that Thorp Arch graduate’s departure from the club is inevitable, as reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post. Despite the club monitoring his progress at Kenilworth Road, it is expected that he will leave before the start of the preseason.

Transfer guruĀ Fabrizio Romano has also issued an update on Drameh’s future recently, stating on Twitter: “He is likely to make a decision on his future right after the playoffs.”

With his impressive performances in the Championship this season, it will be interesting to see where Drameh sees his future – with several suitors likely to be interested in a player with such high potential.

Much will hinge on which division both Leeds and Luton start next season in, and how keen the player is to either make his loan permanent, fight for a place at his parent club or look for a new challenge elsewhere.
