Leeds player ratings v Preston

|

Goalkeepers and defenders

Felix Wiedwald 6 – Had very little to do with Leeds dominating possession in the Preston half. Be interesting to see if Rob Green retains the number one slot as he looks set to return from his knee injury next week.

Luke Ayling 9 – Ayling, 25, is quickly becoming one of Leeds’ best players on the right side of defence, as he continues to consistently drive the Whites forward. Defensively solid an contributed in attack; excellent display.

Pontus Jansson 6 – Sloppy return to the Leeds side as he was caught in possession numerous times, after seeing out his suspension for the first two matches of the season. Decision making at fault, must improve.

Liam Cooper 7 – Solid from the commanding centre-back after signing a new contract this week, as he retained the captain’s armband. Won the majority of his aerial duels and kept possession well.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson 7 (Replaced by Stuart Dallas, 82 mins) – Got forward well and put in an almost inch-perfect cross for Chris Wood in the second half, which almost saw the New Zealand target man score his second of the season. Solid debut in the league for Leeds.
