Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has wowed Sky Sports pundit Gary Lineker who has been speaking from the Qatar World Cup.

Richarlison’s Brazil have made been one of the standout performers at this winter’s tournament and Spurs’ Richarlison as been at the forefront of their impressive displays.

Tite’s side now have a quarter-final clash against Croatia coming up later today and it would be fair to expect Richarlison to start once again given he has started three of the four games so far.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

And in those games, the Spurs forward has established himself as one of the players to watch out for in the race for the Golden Boot with three goals already to his name.

Two of those goals have already been tipped for the goal of the tournament and it is fair to say his displays so far have stunned the former Manchester United defender:

(23:55) “I can’t believe Richarlison. I know he’s playing with better players. But the little head-ups the other day… I didn’t think he had it in him.”

TIF Thoughts on Neville’s comments…

We can understand why Neville may be surprised to see Richarlison blossoming under Tite, however, it will be no surprise to any Brazil fans.

Has Richarlison been the surprise player of the World Cup?

No

The 25-year-old came into the tournament in sensational form for his country having netted seven goals in his previous six outings for his country (via Transfermarkt).

Even for Spurs he has shown some promising signs with two big goals in the Champions League and finding himself unfortunate not to score yet in the league with some special efforts finding the woodwork.

However, having shown what he is capable of when playing as a centre-forward for Brazil, it will be interesting to see how Antonio Conte uses him when he returns having mainly deployed him out on the wing so far.
