Tottenham Hotspur are already looking into the prospect of making some changes to their N17 home just over three years from its grand opening.

This has been suggested by Alasdair Gold who has noted potential room for improvement in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s pitch retraction system.

Spurs have now been playing their football back in north London for over three years having spent a spell at Wembley Stadium during the development of the site.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

And despite being dubbed by many as the most impressive football stadium around, it seems the system which retracts the football pitch for the artificial NFL field could be improved.

Speaking on his latest YouTube video, Gold claimed there have already been noises suggesting this could be the case as the Lilywhites look to potentially shorten the turnaround between events in N17:

(49:45) “I think there’s been talk about potentially improving the system that brings the pitch takes it off, you know, the hydraulic system that brings it all off because that can constantly be improved to be faster.

“Because I think the dream for Spurs is to have an NFL-football doubleheader. You know, presumably, I don’t know if you’d have one the same day and one later in the day or whether it’d be the next day.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

Currently, Spurs are holding two NFL games per year in their N17 home but the US takeovers are taking place on weekends when Spurs are playing away from home.

And it seems as if an improvement in the pitch retraction system could speed up the turnaround process where multiple events – such as music concerts – could take place on the same weekend.

So not only could that open up room for more revenue coming into the club but it could also streamline the process of transforming the stadium from the day-to-day football arena and potentially cut the costs down in the long term.

Regardless, if this is something which could be done to increase the revenue stream into the club, it is not something with Spurs fans should be viewing as a negative amid some frustrations recently regarding the club’s owners.
