Leeds United-focused journalist Phil Hay caught the attention of many Whites supporters recently after he posted a tweet that provided an injury update concerning Leeds playmaker Pablo Hernandez.
As per Hay’s latest tweet, Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa confirmed in his latest press conference that Hernandez will not play in the Whites’ Championship clash with Cardiff City this Sunday. The journalist has shared that the former Spain international has picked up a ‘minor’ injury that will force him to miss Leeds’ game against the Bluebirds this weekend, however, Hay does state that the 35-year-old Spaniard ‘will be back to full training’ to prepare for Leeds’ game against Fulham on 27th June.
After Hay shared this update on Hernandez via Twitter, plenty of Leeds fans flocked to this post to share their thoughts on the news.
Marcelo Bielsa back with his weekly press conference earlier. Injury news is that Pablo Hernandez is out of the Cardiff game. Minor issue but will be back to full training in the lead-up to the Fulham game. #lufc

Plenty of Leeds fans responded negatively to this injury update, with one Whites supporter describing this as a ‘huge blow’.

Hernandez is a huge blow. Augustin will be a miss as an option. Forshaw we have dealt without but good to see he is on the mend. Up step Roberts. 9 games to make yourselves heroes lads.

However, some Leeds supporters responded more calmly to this news, with some stating that they believe 21-year-old Tyler Roberts will be able to provide sufficient cover for the Spanish playmaker.
Is this injury news a huge blow for Leeds United?YESNO |
I’d be more worried if Phillips was out. Hernandez is of that age now where’s he’s going to struggle with injuries. Reckon we’ll be reyt ?

Not too concerned about this if Tyler Roberts comes in with the kind of form he finished with

It may be fair to say that Hernandez has been one of the Whites’ best players this season. The 35-year-old is Leeds’ second-highest league goalscorer and second-highest league assist provider this year, while he has also earned the third-highest average overall rating of any Leeds player for the 2019/20 Championship season, according to WhoScored.
With all of that in mind, it mightn’t come as a surprise to see that plenty of Leeds fans are concerned by this news that he will miss Sunday’s clash with Cardiff City.
