On the latest episode of the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Ricky Sacks, Lee McQueen, Jamie Brown and John Wenham have all been discussing the latest about Tottenham Hotspur and looked ahead to Friday night’s fixture against Manchester United.

The quartet discussed their potential line-ups for the game against Jose Mourinho’s old side, but Wenham was quick to rule out one youngster from taking any part in the game, or any other Spurs first-team match for the rest of the season. He suggests that George Marsh, a 21-year-old midfielder, won’t be able to take part in any of the remaining fixtures, due to a ruling from the Premier League, which dictates that any returning loan player cannot take part.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here is what Wenham said on the subject:

“George Marsh is an interesting one. He can’t actually play for Tottenham this season. I understand the Premier League clubs came together and agreed that returning loanee players can take no part in the fixtures moving forward to try and keep some integrity in the competition.

“So George Marsh is merely just making up the numbers and he’s a very bog-standard player, in my opinion. He’s got another year on his contract and next year I expect he will go out on loan again.”

Are you disappointed that Marsh won't be able to feature in the remaining games?

TIF Thoughts…

Marsh spent most of the season on loan with Leyton Orient in League Two and despite making 26 appearances for the League Two side, it appears as if he won’t get his chance for Spurs in the remaining fixtures.

He did feature as a right-back in Spurs’ in-house friendly game last week which suggests that Mourinho is certainly taking a look at the youngster. But unfortunately for him, it seems that he will be forced to wait a while longer to add to his single first-team appearance for the Lilywhites.
