Supporters of Leeds United have been flocking to quotes on Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland that were made by Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Speaking on the Blood Red podcast recently, Fjortoft, a Norwegian TV commentator, spoke on the striker’s future and a potential move to England.
As cited by TEAMtalk, the commentator said: “He would be a good fit for any club and for Liverpool he is good – when he speaks about United, he speaks about Leeds United!
“I think he’ll end up in England at some stage, but he is 19 and we should make space to have five games without scoring.”
This is likely due to the fact that the 19-year-old forward was born in Leeds (per Transfermarkt) and his father Alf-Inge Haaland played for the Whites from 1997 until 2000 (per Transfermarkt).
So, after the quotes were relayed to supporters on social media (via James Marshment), lots of Leeds fans had their say on the matter.

To earn his superb average rating, Haaland, who is valued at £64.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been in imperious form in Germany’s top flight since Dortmund acquired his services mid-way through the season (per BBC).
Will Leeds ever be in a position where they could realistically sign Erling Haaland? No, would never happenYes, anything is possible |
