A group of Leeds United fans have been responding to a post on Twitter from @roblufc. Alongside the caption ‘Points Per Game Champions’, the footage was a compilation of some of the club’s players celebrating goals they’ve scored this season.

The Championship is currently suspended and whilst it remains unclear as to if and when the season will be able to resume, if the remainder of the campaign was to be simulated based upon the teams’ average points per game so far, the Whites would finish top (via Sporting Life).

To kick things off what season is this from?

Here is what some of the Elland Road faithful have had to say in response to the post, with many unsurprisingly hoping of an outcome that sees Leeds become a Premier League side once again.

What do we think?

Leeds United currently sit top of the Championship, one point clear of Slaven Bilic’s West Bromwich Albion and are closing in on promotion to the Premier League for the first time since they were relegated in 2004. Whilst settling things based on their average points per game total seems like one of the more sensible solutions, there has been no confirmation with regards to how the final standings will be decided in the event it is deemed unsafe to play matches.
