Leeds United have announced that they will rename the South Stand at Elland Road as the ‘Norman Hunter South Stand’ following the former star’s recent passing.
The club has decided to pay tribute to a player who won two league titles with the Yorkshire club and was a member of England’s 1966 World Cup-winning squad – and made the announcement on Thursday morning via their official website.
Here’s how some of the club’s supporters have responded to the news.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that the fans are fully supportive of the decision and regard Hunter as one of the club’s all-time greats. Earning the infamous nickname of ‘Bites Yer Legs’, he also helped the side to Inter-Cities Fairs Cup glory on two occasions, as well as successes in the FA Cup and League Cup (as per leedsunited.com) – further securing the centre-back’s status as a true Leeds United legend.
