Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the club’s latest reported transfer plans.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page relaying comments made by Dean Jones in a recent transfer Q&A for Bleacher Report.
When asked who Liverpool are looking for in the upcoming summer transfer window, Dean replied saying that the Reds “want a midfielder, but it would be more of a squad player like Cantwell from Norwich or Kalvin Phillips of Leeds”.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their reactions to this revelation.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
Liverpool want to sign a midfielder this summer, but it would be a squad player along the lines of Todd Cantwell from Norwich or Kalvin Phillips from Leeds. [@DeanJonesBR] pic.twitter.com/XMy65WZCrC

Also Would rather give Grujic a shot than Cantwell tbh would have more presence in the middle and is a powerhouse with good technique,

No thank you, 2 players that would happily sit in the bench week in week out get 15 minutes on the pitch a month and never push the first team!

Who would you rather see at Anfield next season?
Todd Cantwell
Kalvin Phillips
Liverpool are currently 25 points ahead at the top of the Premier League table having won 27 out of a possible 29 league matches under Jurgen Klopp (per BBC Sport). Now that this suggestion on what the club plans to do during the upcoming summer transfer window has emerged on Twitter, this paved the way for lots of Liverpool fans to have their say on the matter.
Nonsense.

Don’t understand why we just don’t bring Grujic back?
— LewisYNWA (@LewYNWA) April 22, 2020
Squad player but only if they are just as good as the person they replace in a game. No point getting someone miles away from the first 11.

What do we think?
It seems that these Liverpool fans arent fully taken with the idea of bringing in squad players, instead of players that would be immediate starters in the team.
