These Leeds United fans have been discussing Phil Hay’s comments regarding the possibility of a move for Southampton’s Che Adams.
After a Leeds United fan asked Phil Hay: “Who says it was his number 1 choice?” Hay quickly commented, with his reply stating: “Adams is the player Bielsa wants. He was given a list, did his analysis and picked him out. But if Hasenhuttl isn’t budging, it’s got very little chance.”
This all came about after a fan stated that Adams was Bielsa’s number one choice.
Che Adams started his career at Ilkeston, before moving to Sheffield United in November 2014. However, in August 2016 Adams was sold to Birmingham for just £1.98m.
After staying with Birmingham for a little while, the 23-year-old was sold to Southampton in July 2019 for a whopping £15.03m.
Here’s what the Leeds fans had to say about Hay’s comments:

That being the case definitely time to move on! But who?? Personally I’d go Vydra, I know a lot of fans didn’t like what went down a couple of seasons ago but the guy brings a lot to the table!

Shocking man, just move on…

Draw a line under this.

But he’s clearly not available so give up now. How close are we to securing 2nd or 3rd options…?

Should Leeds United abandon the Che Adams move?
Yes
No
So far in Adams’ Premier League season, the 23-year-old has only managed to record two assists and zero goals in 16 league outings.
Most of these fans are wanting Leeds to start looking at other players; maybe in fear of this deal never happening and being left with nobody?
@FraserLufc no happening!! Quicker 31st jan comes the better

Should’ve given him a list of potential players who were actually available!

What Do We Think?
We feel that if the deal has even a tiny risk of falling apart, then Leeds should have a couple of back-up plans just in case a transfer move fails.
The fans are right, if Adams isn’t likely to be in a Leeds shirt anytime soon, then just move on to the next target and stop wasting time on lost causes.
