A lot of Leeds United fans have reacted to Phil Hay’s transfer update in which he claims that Che Adams is the Whites’ top target to replace Eddie Nketiah, who looks like he will be going back to Arsenal.
Adams only joined Southampton last summer, but he has struggled for consistent game time and could be available for a loan in January.
Would Adams be a realistic signing for Leeds?
Yes, he is struggling for game time
No, Southampton might still need him
This news has gone down well with many Leeds fans who would be excited by the arrival of Adams.
What lies in store for Leeds United in January?
– Che Adams top loan target to replace Nketiah
– Liverpool unlikely to let Brewster come
– Jack Clarke replacement targeted
– experienced gk wanted as safety net for when Meslier startshttps://t.co/9suxPtZa5T— Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) December 31, 2019
Che Adams would be a real statement of intent ??

Would be a major coup getting Adams.

If we can get Che Adam’s I would take that all day long.

Che Adams would be brilliant. Not getting a forward in January was our downfall last season with the injuries to Roofe. Maybe Bielsa is thinking about playing with two up top? Can’t have Bamford & Adams yet only play with one up front

I’d be happy with che Adams to be fair

Other Whites supporters, though, do not think that their club have a chance of getting Adams.
Che adams would be excellent but seems unrealistic

Che Adams is seriously a target Phil? And likelihood? I’m surprised with this one.

Che Adams genuine or is this just going to get some fans excited for no reason and then just hammer Radz if it doesn’t happen
— Parma (@Hello_Parma) December 31, 2019
3 reasons why che Adams won’t be happening! A) he’s been playing in 1st team for Southampton! B) he won’t drop down a league to sit on bench behind Bamford! C) His wages are huge!

What do we think?
Adams, who is valued at £10.8m by Transfermarkt, has made 15 league appearances for Southampton, but he has struggled with the jump up from the Championship to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old forward has no goals and only one assist to show for his efforts, and until recently he was left out of the side by Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Adams for Birmingham was lethal as he banged in 22 goals for the Blues, and if Leeds could bring him in then, he may score the goals required to end Leeds’ exile from the Premier League.
