Some Celtic fans are expressing their confusion and disappointment about why striker Maryan Shved isn’t playing at all for the club, with the January transfer window coming up.
The Hoops recently lost their last Premiership match and are now only two points ahead of the Gers in the table. But Steven Gerrard’s men have a game in hand and winning it will see the Gers go back to the top of the top-flight.
The game against the Bhoys saw Odsonne Edouard start up front once again and Maryan Shved didn’t make an appearance at all.
Celtic fans: Is Lennon right to not play Shved?
Shved deserves a go!
Lennon knows best!
Some Hoops fans are confused and perplexed about why Shved isn’t in Neil Lennon’s plans this season, with many questioning why he does not appear anywhere near his first-team.
This bhoy can play, don’t know what the issue is with him ?

It’s a weird one, only the club will know.

Aparantly working on his fitness and bulking up kinda the same situation as christie can see him heading out on loan in january
— Chris Lennon (@TheRealLendog) December 31, 2019
Has the question never been put to Lennon via the media. Seems@obvious to ask in an interview.

Why is he not getting a game? He’s obviously got some skill.

The 22-year-old Ukrainian Shved is a right-winger by trade but can also play up front. So far this season, the forward has made just one appearance in the Premiership so far. He also made a single appearance in the UEFA Champions League qualifying stages, scoring in that game too.
Shved had arrived at the club from Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv in the January of 2019. In the second half of last season, he didn’t play a single game in all competitions for the Hoops. He had become the first Ukrainian to join Celtic.
For Lviv last season, Shved had played 26 times in all competitions for the club. He racked up a tally of 15 goals and also had four assists to his name. In the 2017-18 campaign, he scored six times and assisted twice for his former club.
What do we think?
The Hoops have to use Shved soon. He is 22 and not playing isn’t helping the player’s development at all. They need James Forrest to be on his toes and having Shved get some minutes would provide some competition to the Scotland international.
