Pablo Hernandez has signed a two-year extension with Leeds United and fans have been showing their excitement via a Phil Hay tweet.
Hernandez’s new deal will last up until the summer of 2022 and he has become the seventh player to sign a new deal since the summer. Many fans were quick to express their excitement and happiness in response to the Phil Hay tweet.
Pablo Hernandez signs a two-year contract extension with Leeds United, to 2022. Hard to think of a more enjoyable player to watch this side of relegation in 2004. #lufc pic.twitter.com/M9btQuE5gl

It’s clear to see that Hernandez is a fan favourite and it’s likely he’ll retire at Leeds, and it, perhaps, wouldn’t be wrong to hazard a guess that most fans would be happy with that happening when the time comes for him to hang his boots up.

Amazing! But does a two year deal suggest he might stay on as a player-coach eventually? It is pretty rare to give a 34yr old a new 2yr contract, even at #lufc

Wonderful news, truly wonderful

What Do We Think?
A new deal is very much deserved for the Spaniard and at 34-years-old it’s likely to be one of, if not, his last contract as a player. By then many of the Leeds fans will be hoping to be playing their football in the Premier League, which would be a very suitable parting gift for Hernandez, considering he has contributed to 29 goals and 32 assists in his 132 appearances for the Whites since arriving in Yorkshire (per TransferMarkt).
