Adrian Durham heaped praise on Leeds United fans when discussing how their presence could benefit the Premier League.

The broadcaster used one-word to describe Leeds’ fanbase by describing them as incredible but also did note that they travel in their numbers too.

Durham made the remarks when commenting on Henry Winter’s article in The Times in which he explained why the Premier League needed Leeds United.

“Leeds, incredible fanbase and they travel in numbers as well,” said Durham on talkSPORT (Tuesday April 16th, 18:09).

OPINION

At the rate Durham talks about Leeds on talkSPORT, you’d think he was turning into a supporter of Marcelo Bielsa’s side. The broadcaster is often heard gushing about the Whites and who can blame him? Leeds have been in tremendous form this season and have submitted some jaw-dropping performances in the process, so it makes sense that Durham has been impressed. Yet instead of focusing on what the team could offer in the Premier League, Durham focuses on Leeds United’s fanbase on this occasion. Once again it’s no surprise that the talkSPORT host is complimentary of Leeds as their supporters are something the club can be proud of. Leeds fans can regularly be heard at games, whether their side is winning or losing, and it’s seems to be a rare sight if they don’t sell out a game at Elland Road. While Leeds shouldn’t feel entitled to be in the Premier League due to their fanbase, it doesn’t mean the supporters aren’t an asset who can’t do their part by cheering their side on in the intense promotion race.
