OPINION
Despite what Marcelo Bielsa may say, Leeds United are in desperate need of a couple of new signings in the January transfer window. Of paramount importance is a new goalkeeper, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell currently the only senior goalkeeper at the club after Jamal Blackman returned to Chelsea with a broken leg. The Whites simply cannot go the rest of the season with just the Northern Ireland international to call upon, with academy star Will Huffer already making his debut since Blackman’s departure. On Tuesday, the Whites were linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday stopper Keiren Westwood, with the Mirror reporting [08:08] that the Republic of Ireland international is set to join the Elland Road club on a free transfer in January. This would be a brilliant swoop for the Whites, and many fans have unsurprisingly been reacting with glee on Twitter. Westwood is an experienced goalkeeper who is among the best in the division, and securing his signature in January could be a masterstroke by Bielsa in his quest for the Premier League.
