A BBC journalist has corrected his claim earlier today that Ezgjan Alioski has suffered a new injury and revealed the key Leeds United attacker is actually “fine”.
BBC Radio Leeds correspondent Adam Pope apologised on his personal Twitter account “for the issues created” following a “miscommunication over the fitness of the Macedonia international.
Alioski is away on international duty with the Macedonia squad and was pictured taking part in training on Tuesday.
Correction to earlier tweet due to cross wires – Alioski is fine and has met up with the Macedonia squad. Jansson being assessed back in Leeds. #lufc

OPINION
It will be a relief to Leeds and their fans that Alioski has not joined the walking wounded. With Pontus Jansson back at his club after withdrawing from international duty and a number of first teamers long-term absentees, including Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling, Gaetano Berardi and Izzy Brown, Marcelo Bielsa can ill afford to be without Alioski. The Macedonian divides opinion among Leeds supporters, who appreciate his work ethic and hammer of a left foot, but are left frequently railing at his lack of end product and penchant for getting caught offside. Yet, Bielsa is a clear admirer of the summer-of-2017 signing. Alioski has started all 17 of Leeds’ Championship matches this season and has the manager’s total faith and trust. He will be delighted if the left-winger returns from international duty fit and healthy. That will no doubt be aided by the fact Alioski is suspended from his country’s international clash on Friday night after incurring a one-match ban.
