Ipswich terminate Graham loan

|

Wolves attacker Jordan Graham has seen his loan deal with Ipswich torn up early following the appointment of Paul Lambert at Portman Road, according to Express & Star reporter Tim Spiers.

The reliable journalist claimed via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that Graham, 23, is now training with League One club Oxford United after being let go by Ipswich.

Graham managed to make just four appearances during his temporary stint at Portman Road and was never likely to earn any more game-time under Lambert due to an off-field incident during the new Ipswich boss’ time at Molineux.

OPINION

Graham was once a very highly-rated young player during his days at Aston Villa and he looked as though he could reach his potential at Wolves. However he has endured some horrific loan spells away from Molineux and it appears that Lambert – who also sold him from Villa – is just following him everywhere like some kind of poltergeist. The winger has made 17 senior appearances for Wolves but he has surely played his last by now with the club in the Premier League and him barely even getting a game with the Championship’s worst side. League One beckons for the 23-year-old but Oxford United would be a good move for him and it would offer him a chance to kick-start his stalling career. Nuno Espirito Santo should have an easy decision to make on the winger in January, so letting him join Oxford makes a lot of sense. It could be a good deal for everyone involved – as long as Lambert isn’t the next manager at the Kassam.
