OPINION
Lewis Baker was clearly not a happy bunny after his first league start for Leeds United turned sour on a personal note on Tuesday night. Named in the starting XI as a replacement for weekend debutant Aapo Halme, the on-loan Chelsea player lasted just 45 minutes before he was withdrawn at half-time as part of a double substitution in which Ezgjan Alioski also came off. Samuel Saiz, who had again been overlooked from the start, came on before Baker to provide a better link between midfield and attack, a move that paid dividends as United scored the second-half goal through Stuart Dallas that secured a 1-0 win and lifted them back to second in the Championship table. Baker did not stick around to celebrate with his teammates, with supporters spotting him leaving when the match had literally finished as they flooded out of Elland Road.

Leeds fans were clearly unimpressed that a member of the first-team squad was in such a rush to get out of Elland Road. Some suggested he was guilty of selfishness, with one sarcastically saying “good to see the side before self ethos is fully instilled in him”. Another claimed it was the first visible sign of players in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad being unhappy at their lack of opportunities.
ask him his thoughts on baker leaving in his car before the game finished please phil

@apopey Lewis Baker spotted in his car trying to Leave Elland Road as we were exiting the west stand after the game. First sign of players upset about lack of chances?

Apparently Baker was sat in his car ready to go as I was coming out. Poor form that if true.
