Celtic have been handed a massive boost in their must-win Europa League game against Rosenborg on Thursday.

Their manager Rini Coolen has said he will pick a second-string side for the game, with one eye on their Norwegian Cup Final at the weekend.

They won the league title last week – their fourth in a row – and celebrated over the weekend.

With no points in the Europa League they’re already eliminated and will put all their focus into the game against Stromsgodset at the weekend.

Talking in the Daily Record, Coolen said, “We have to seriously consider the Cup Final, which is just a few days after we play Celtic.

“It will be very difficult to pick two full strength teams against both Celtic and Stromsgodset. I wish it was possible.”

This is great news for Celtic, although it still won’t be a done deal in Norway on Thursday.

They really have to win tomorrow if they want any chance of qualifying in their last game, at home against Red Bull Salzburg.

Salzburg play RB Leipzig tomorrow and Celtic are currently in third, on the same points as Leipzig and six points behind Salzburg.
