A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to pile into Jack Harrison for his performance in their side’s 1-0 Championship win against Hull City on Tuesday night.

The Manchester City loanee played 74 minutes of the clash at the division strugglers, which was settled by a Tyler Roberts goal as Leeds returned to the summit.

Many United supporters were unimpressed by the contribution of Harrison, with comments including “circus act”.

COMMENTARY:

The Leeds fans calling for Harrison to be hooked against Hull finally got their wish when the youngster was replaced by Stuart Dallas with 16 minutes remaining. Criticism of the winger was a little harsh, given that he is just making his way in senior football and is standing in for Pablo Hernandez, one of the outstanding players in the United team. It would be odd if Harrison was consistently as effective as the hallowed Spaniard, or able to make the right decisions time and again. The 21-year-old has an excellent technique and touch game, as you would expect for a player honed by Man City, but he does over-complicate things and attempt too many tricks. That said, Harrison will only benefit from top-level competition and from exposure to the Championship, which is more demanding than any level he has played before. Leeds fans laying into him should be more understanding.
