A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their despair after Marcelo Bielsa revealed that Barry Douglas was substituted against Hull City with a muscle injury.
The £3million summer signing was withdrawn after 82 minutes on Tuesday night as Leeds secured a 1-0 win that lifted them back to the Championship summit.
Bielsa subsequently explained, as quoted by the personal Twitter account of Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay, that Douglas has a “muscular problem” and “we don’t know how serious it is”.

COMMENTARY:
Leeds fans are hugely concerned about the injury sustained by Douglas late on in the win against Hull. The left-back has made a huge impact since joining from Wolves, starting every match in the Championship and playing a key role in the team’s climb to the top of the league. With Kemar Roofe, Gaetano Berardi and Pablo Hernandez sidelined until after the next international break, and Patrick Bamford out until the new year, Leeds have had to get used to life without key players. Douglas is one they can ill afford to lose for any length of time. His experience and pedigree make him a key man. From his left-back slot, the ex-Wolves man has provided three assists this season and an endless stream of high velocity, precise crosses both from open play and set pieces. Stuart Dallas replaced him at left-back late on against Hull, and the Leeds faithful don’t want a repeat of that at the weekend.
If Douglas is missing now we could be in a bit of trouble. Fingers crossed he hasn’t pulled it. #lufc
