A section of Leeds United fans took to Twitter to hail Liam Cooper for his performance in their side’s 3-0 Championship win against Preston on Tuesday night.
The Elland Road skipper scored the opener with a well directed header and contributed to his side keeping a clean sheet as they maintained their place at the league summit.
Many United supporters were blown away by the display from Cooper, with comments including “worth £200million”.

COMMENTARY:
Previously regarded as a decent centre-back but an error-prone one whose lapses of concentration infuriated fans, Cooper has been transformed into the epitome of solidity and reliability by Marcelo Bielsa. The manager has bigged up the 27-year-old’s leadership skills and explained how he leads from the front, both on and off the pitch. Cooper also started last season well, before plummeting downhill in a way that precisely mirrored the team, but there appears something more permanent in his performances under Bielsa. The centre-back couldn’t get in the team two years ago when Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley were the favoured pairing under Garry Monk. Now, it is only injury that will get Cooper out of it. He was outstanding alongside Jansson last night and his transformation and maturity into a top-quality Championship defender now appears all but complete.
Well Cooper is worth 200million

Everyone is stepping it up this season. Cooper and Phillips have been great (and consistent). Pontus has been immense, all new signings are doing well. And Klich is a polish prince #LUFC #MOT

Roberts, Saiz, Harrison, Jansson and Cooper were bloody brilliant, but a word again for Phillips. What a player he's become, absolutely incredible. #LUFC

Saiz and Harrison the stand-outs tonight, both immense.
Cooper and Pontus at the back too – ??#LUFC— Joe ?? (@joem167) September 18, 2018
Great all round display from #lufc. Stand out performers Jansen, Cooper, Phillips, Saiz, Klich, Harrison and Roberts. BPF did nothing wrong (great save when 0-0) and Ayling and Douglas improved as game wore on. The other player has had better games!

That was absolutely beautiful to watch. Roberts, Harrison, Saiz, Phillips, Cooper and Jansson were just on another level. I should probably name the whole team as players of the match. Bielsaball is real. Fortress Elland Road is real. Its stunning. #lufc #mot
