A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to hail Jordan Stevens after his performance for the Under-23s in their 5-0 demolition of Bristol City.
Stevens, who joined the Yorkshire giants in January, played at right-back as the youth team tore City apart at Elland Road on Friday night, scoring one of the goals to keep up his side’s excellent start in the Professional Development League.
Many Leeds supporters watching a live stream of the match were hugely impressed with the performance of the 18-year-old.

COMMENTARY:
There hasn’t been the same noise around Stevens as there has around the likes of fellow youth team stars Jack Clarke and Sam Dalby, but the teenager plucked from Forest Green in January is starting to make a real name for himself. He has played most of his nascent career as a midfielder, but Carlos Corberan has deployed him in a roving right-back role for the Under-23s and it is starting to pay real dividends. He was far more than just a defensive player as Leeds destroyed their Championship rivals. Stevens was used as an inverted full-back, frequently moving up into midfield with the aggressive positioning that has been a hallmark of United’s sides at senior and youth level since Marcelo Bielsa took over this summer. The teenager scored one goal and set up another with a pin-sharp performance that demonstrated his composure on the ball and ability to link the player. Remember the name. Stevens is a real talent.

Leeds' U23 side looking as impressive as their first team at the moment. Jack Clarke and Jordan Stevens the standouts. Jamal Blackman, Lewis Baker and Jack Harrison getting run-outs, Bamford taken off with injury – to be assesed over the weekend. #lufc

Diaz, Clarke, Stevens and Gotts all had stand-out performances for me. Difficult to gauge from #LUFC PDL matches, but on this performance all look promising prospects.
