With two tricky Championship away fixtures this week, Leeds United are set to make the first changes to their league starting XI since the start of the Marcelo Bielsa reign.

Don’t expect wholesale changes in the first of the encounters away to Swansea City on Tuesday night, as there were in the League Cup win against Bolton Wanderers last week.

But Bielsa is set to make tweaks to his team to enable them to have the best chance of extending their remarkable start to the campaign in which four matches have yielded four wins.

This could mean a recall in defence for Pontus Jansson, who has been forced to watch the opening three matches from the sidelines after his late return from the World Cup allowed Gaetano Berardi to grasp his opportunity.

Berardi, 29, has impressed in a new centre-back role but he does not have the commanding presence of the Sweden international and could make way against the recently-relegated club at the Liberty Stadium.

The other may be the omission of Pablo Hernandez, who has started in a new right-flank role in the first three matches of the league campaign.

The Spaniard, who signed a new contract earlier in the summer, is 33 and has not always fared as well on the road as he has at home.

Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts will be in the shake-up to replace Hernandez if he does sit this one out, but Kemar Roofe is currently untouchable after his brilliant start to the season.

Roofe can play anywhere behind the spearhead, but Bielsa will be loathe to drop him deep following the misery he has caused to centre-backs in the last few weeks.

That could mean the manager plays the same formation he used against Stoke City, Derby County and Rotherham, and hands a first league start to Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison on the right flank.

The other nine players are likely to be the same as started the 2-0 win against Rotherham at the weekend.
