RB Leipzig have made an improve offer of £22million for Everton attacker Ademola Lookman, according to the Daily Mirror.

The national newspaper claim that the Bundesliga side are continuing to pursue the 5ft 7in tall winger (Transfermrkt) despite having two bids already rejected for the player.

The Daily Mirror report that the Toffees previously labelled Lookman not for sale but following the arrival of Richarlison and Bernard as well as talks with the winger’s representation they have softened their stance and would let him go for £30million.

Good move for Everton?

While Lookman clearly has a bright future in football, selling him now for £30million wouldn’t be the worst move.

Given that RB Leipzig are refusing to give up their chase of the winger, it seems very likely that the German giants could try their luck one more time and improve their offer once again in order to match the player’s asking price.

The pacey 20-year-old winger could help Marco Silva bring success to Goodison Park this season but with competition being tough for first-team places then he might not be guaranteed to regularly feature.

Lookman is clearly chomping at the bit to regularly play football after previously not being handed opportunities at the club so it might be for the best to part company with him instead of holding onto a restless player.

Likely to happen?

For this deal to go through before the German transfer window shuts at the end of the month, RB Leipzig will need to increase their offer once again.

The Bundesliga side are already willing to break their transfer record with their latest offer so if they can find the extra £8million needed to a get deal done then surely they will return for Lookman.

This means Lookman’s Goodison Park exit has a realistic chance of happening this summer as it’s likely he’ll jump at the chance to join the side he had a very impressive loan spell with last season.
