Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen is expecting an offer to come in from Fenerbahce before the transfer deadline despite his recent injury setback, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish newspaper report that the Netherlands international is not attracting interest from any other clubs and believes that Fenerbahce, where he spent some of last season on loan, will come back in for him imminently.

Fanatik claim that Fenerbahce made an offer for the 24-year-old earlier this summer but the two sides failed to reach an agreement.

It is said that Fenerbahce would not be willing to shell out a hefty loan fee for Janssen like they did last term.

OPINION

Fenerbahce may remain interested in Janssen, but it is not currently clear whether they will come back in with another bid for the Dutch striker. The Super Lig club have failed already with an offer this summer, and Janssen’s recent injury, which is set to put him out of action until Christmas, means that a swoop would be a risk for them. Janssen did play well for the Istanbul side during the early days of his loan last season but a different injury problem put a halt to that. One thing that is very clear here is that Mauricio Pochettino has no intention of playing Janssen at all this season, with the 24-year-old stripped of his number nine shirt, and an exit is a move which suits all parties. It has been a disappointing spell at Tottenham for the Netherlands international, who arrived amidst much fanfare following a prolific season in the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar.
