Leeds United fans reacted with humour and warmth on Twitter as owner Andrea Radrizzani unveiled a new honorary president of the club.
United announced on their official website and social media accounts that Patricia, Dowager Countess of Harewood, has been appointed honorary president of the club.
She was interviewed by Radrizzani himself for the Leeds site at her palatial and historic Yorkshire home.
The title of president was held by Lady Harewood’s late husband for 50 years, between 1961 and his death in 2011.

Lady Harewood explained that she supported Leeds throughout her husband’s presidency and has continued to follow the club in the six years since he died.
Leeds fans reacted with some good-humoured comments to the unveiling of Lady Harewood, with many jokingly asking if she could solve the team’s left-back problem and others wondering if she could play against Aston Villa in Friday night’s Championship clash.

Great news. It was a travesty that after Lord Harewood’s death, Bates tried to sneak himself into this position. Used to work in Harewood estate, he was a great man who cared for the city and club. #lufc
