Mateusz Klich is in the Leeds United travelling party for their Championship clash against Birmingham on Saturday afternoon, according to a reliable journalist.

Phil Hay, chief football writer at the Yorkshire Evening Post, reported on his personal Twitter account shortly before kick-off that midfield regular Eunan O’Kane is absent for the St Andrews fixture as he joins Ronaldo Vieira on the sidelines.

Hay reported that Leeds will make a major shake-up in midfield as Klich is handed a shock recall after making just a single league start all season.

The Yorkshire Evening Post had earlier reported that Vieira was a doubt for the Championship clash, and Hay has seemingly confirmed on Twitter that the 19-year-old will miss out.

OPINION

With fixtures coming thick and fast, and injuries starting to bite, Christiansen has to make full use of his squad and turn to players whose involvement has been restricted in the opening half of the campaign. Poland international Klich has been a real disappointment since joining, but it is not too late for him to turn his Leeds career around and become a central figure in the team. It is up to him to make the most of his surprise recall and give the manager something to think about.
