Celtic fans destroy Armstrong for display v Rangers

|

Stuart Armstrong completed 90 minutes in the draw against Rangers on Saturday afternoon – and the Celtic fans on Twitter destroyed him for his performance.

The 25-year-old midfielder was unable to make the difference for the Bhoys as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Parkhead in the Old Firm derby.

Brendan Rodgers’ side had their chances to win as attacker Scott Sinclair missed a couple of opportunities to take the lead.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Craig Gordon also proved to be a hero for Celtic as he kept out an Alfredo Morelos header out from close-range.

The result means that the Bhoys stretch their lead at the top of the table, but Aberdeen will move six points behind them if they manage to beat Hearts on Saturday afternoon.

Celtic fans on social media decided to highlight central midfielder Armstrong for his quiet performance as he was unable to dominate the middle of the park.

Armstrong was one of several players who were unable to reach their top standards at the weekend as they were held to a point by a spirited Rangers team.

The Scotland international has scored four goals this season and was pushed into a more advanced position in the latter stages, but his side lacked a cutting edge in the final third.
