Leeds United fans were disappointed at their team’s 4-1 thrashing at Wolves on Wednesday night – but took to Twitter to rave about the performance of Ezgjan Alioski.

Alioski has had a difficult start to his Elland Road career as early encouraging performances were followed by some shockers that left many of the United hardcore calling for him to be axed.

But Thomas Christiansen has kept faith with the Macedonia international, and he is starting to repay the faith of his manager with a glut of impressive goals.

Leeds were 2-0 down to first-half strikes from Barry Douglas and Ivan Cavaleiro when Samuel Saiz sent a peach of a ball to the edge of the box after 55 minutes that was met with a magnificent first-time volley from Alioski.

It provided hope for United that they could mount a comeback at Molineux but that proved short-lived as Ronaldo Vieira was then sent off for a second booking before strikes from Diogo Jota and Helder Costa secured Wolves’ biggest home win of the season to send them four points clear at the top.

It was a third goal in consecutive matches for Alioski and his fourth in total for the Championship giants, who he joined in the summer after being a prolific scorer and creator at former club Lugano in Switzerland.

Leeds supporters were impressed by the quality of his strike and the growing impact he is making for the team.
