Leeds host Port Vale on Wednesday in the League Cup first-round and should make 10 changes from the weekend.

The Whites began the Championship season with an impressive 3-2 away victory at Bolton and got their bid for promotion off to a perfect start.

However, manager Thomas Christiansen should make wholesale changes from the side that beat Bolton and give the rest of his squad the chance to impress in the cup.

The Yorkshire giants are going to need a strong squad if they are to achieve promotion and won’t be able to just rely on their star players each week.

Liam Cooper should be the sole survivor from the Bolton victory due to a defensive injury crisis, but apart from that it should be a complete reshuffle.

That means Felix Wiedwald, Luke Ayling, Matthew Pennington, Gaetano Berardi, Eunan O’Kane, Kalvin Phillips, Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez, Ezgjan Alioski and Chris Wood drop out.

This Is Futbol has picked out the starting XI Leeds should use against Port Vale, which includes six of the club’s summer signings in action.
