Chris Wood was a standout performer for Leeds during the recently concluded Championship season.

The New Zealand international struck 27 league goals as the Whites narrowly missed out on a top-six spot by five points.

However, it is pretty clear that Leeds require more firepower up front ahead of the new season and they simply cannot rely upon Wood to produce the goods again.

That is why the Yorkshire outfit should make a move for Norwich forward Cameron Jerome, who would add that extra pace and firepower up front.

The 30-year-old struck 16 league goals during the recently concluded season and he has vast amounts of experience both in the top tier and second tier.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani recently appointed Thomas Christiansen as his new head coach following the shock departure of Garry Monk last month.

The duo need to bring a level of excitement at the club during the summer transfer window and Jerome’s signing would bring that.

Dependant on what formation Christiansen plays at Leeds, Jerome’s signing would allow Leeds to be versatile in their play.

The former Premier League player could play in a front two, off the main striker or be a valuable asset who can come off the bench and score vital goals.

Not only that, his pace in the final third would compliment Wood’s ability to hold up the ball and bring other players around him into the game.
