Manchester City midfielder David Silva has revealed that he intends to remain at the club for the rest of his footballing career.

The 31-year-old maestro was one of the best performers at the club last season, scoring eight goals and providing 11 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.

The Spaniard’s contribution helped City guarantee a place in the Champions League next season as they secured a top three finish for the first time in two years.

Silva was the main man at the club’s annual end of season awards ceremony as he was named the Player of the Season for the first time during his seven-year stint at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard expressed his desire to stay with City until the end of his career but admitted that the demand of the Premier League will not get easier with age.

“I’m very happy to be at City and I would like to continue there for as long as possible,” he said.

“It obviously depends on my health, my quality on the pitch and if the club want me to stay.

“I would like to be there until the end but the Premier League is such a hard league to play in, it is much more physical than somewhere like La Liga, so it depends.”

Silva has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League since making his move from La Liga side Valencia in 2010.

The midfielder has made over 200 league appearances with City scoring a total of 39 goals and providing 64 assists.

The Spaniard has already become a legend at the club having secured two league titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup trophy.
