Leeds are in the running to secure the signature of Everton winger Aiden McGeady, according to the latest betting odds.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the 31-year-old Premier League winger at 6/1 to move to Elland Road before September 3.

Preston North End, who loaned McGeady for the entirety of last season, are currently leading the chase for McGeady at a price of 7/4.

Recently relegated Premier League side Middlesbrough are priced at 3/1 followed by third favourites Leeds in the race for McGeady, whose contract at Goodison Park is due to expire next summer.

Despite only securing promotion to the second tier two seasons ago, Simon Grayson helped his team finish a respectable 11th during the recently concluded campaign.

McGeady played a big part in that success, scoring eight goals and supplying nine assists from his 34 league encounters.

His standout performance arguably came against Aston Villa where he assisted a goal to help his team record a 2-2 draw in the Midlands.

During his career, McGeady has only played for one Yorkshire club and that was making 13 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday.

In terms of ingoings and outgoings, Leeds could be in for a busy summer after they named Thomas Christiansen as their new manager earlier on this month.

The former Spain international revealed during his press conference on Monday that he does favour a 4-3-3 formation which would suit McGeady’s style of play.
