Charlton Athletic are interested in signing Rangers wide forward Harry Forrester during the summer transfer window, according to HITC Sport.

The news outlet claims that the 26-year-old is no longer required at Ibrox as Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha looks to freshen up the squad with new signings in the transfer market and has been made available for sale.

The SPL club have already signed six new players this summer with new recruit Alfredo Morelos set to play in Forrester’s preferred attacking role in the upcoming campaign.

The report claims that the League One side are keen on bringing the winger to the Valley as Charlton manager Karl Robinson looks to mount a serious promotion push next season.

Forrester has already experienced playing football in League One having made over 100 appearances in the division with Brentford and Doncaster Rovers.

The winger signed for Rangers from Doncaster in the 2016 January transfer window and he enjoyed a great start to life in Scotland as he scored four goals and provided one assist in the league.

His contribution helped the Glaswegian side achieve promotion back to the top flight of Scottish football for the first time since 2012.

Last season, the Englishman featured in 28 matches in all competitions but he had to watch on from the sidelines for the latter stages of the season as Caixinha did not seem impressed with his performances.

Forrester’s current contract at Ibrox expires in the summer of 2019.
