Leeds will kick off the new Championship season by playing Bolton – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views.

The Yorkshire giants will travel to the recently promoted side on August 6, with the 2017/18 Championship season officially kicking off on August 4.

Recently relegated Sunderland will host Garry Rowett’s Derby County in the first match of the season, with Aston Villa’s clash against Hull City being another standout tie.

Nonetheless, Leeds’ new manager Thomas Christiansen will be hoping to get off to the best of starts and build on the success Garry Monk brought to the club last season.

Christiansen first home clash will be against Simon Grayson’s Preston North End, which will then be followed up by another tough home tie against last season’s play-off semi-finalists Fulham.

Leeds will take on their Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday on September 30, with Sheffield United visiting Elland Road the following month.

Garry Monk, who left the club last month and joined recently relegated Middlesbrough, will bring his north east side to Yorkshire on November 18.

Leeds supporters on social media were stating that their opening fixture list was looking tasty and they were hoping for a good start.

One fan pointed out that anyone can beat anyone in the Championship as the Elland Road faithful were hoping for another successful campaign.

Under the guidance of Monk last term, the Whites finished five points off the top-six and they will be hoping the new man in the dugout can build on that success.
