Aston Villa will face Hull City on the first day of the Championship season – and fans on Twitter are hoping for a good start.
The Football League fixtures were announced on Wednesday morning and Steve Bruce will come up against his former side, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Villa are the bookie’s favourites to earn promotion from the Championship despite finishing in the bottom of the table during the recently concluded campaign.

The new season will officially kick off on August 4, with recently relegated and currently managerless Sunderland hosting Derby County in a Friday night encounter at the Stadium of Light.
Villa’s first away trip will be to Wales and against Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City, a team that beat them last season.
Added with that, Villa will face their fierce rivals Birmingham City on October 28 at St Andrew’s, with the return leg scheduled for February 10 – Harry Redknapp is in charge of the Blues.
One fan stated that he is glad Villa have been given a tough start because if Bruce fails to deliver then he will be out of the door very quickly – Roberto Di Matteo was sacked after winning only one game in his first 11 matches.
Another supporter thinks that Villa need to, at the very least, claim ten points from their first five matches of the 2017/18 season.
Overall, the Villa Park faithful were now hoping their team can focus on the new campaign and make a return to the Premier League next season.

Good that we have a tough start. If Bruce fails, he will atleast be gone quick. #avfc
