BBC Journalist Ian Dennis has revealed that Aitor Karanka is relaxed at the prospect of returning to a managerial role and is waiting for the right offer.

Dennis, a reliable journalist for BBC Radio 5 Live and Match of the Day, tweeted that he’d bumped into the former Middlesbrough manager and that he seemed “very relaxed”.

An earlier report from The Mirror claimed Aitor Karanka was being lined up for the vacant Leeds position.

The newspaper revealed that Monk and Karanka were heading for a “job-swap” and the report predicted Karanka to head to Elland Road while the former Leeds boss would take over at newly-relegated Middlesbrough.

Leeds have been left without a manager for thirteen days, after Garry Monk’s surprising resignation following the club’s most successful Championship finish in six years.

However, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Karanka is not being considered for the Elland Road job.

The former Middlesbrough boss has been jobless since March, but it seems like he’s in no hurry to take a job, and will wait until the right opportunity comes along.
