Transfers: Zidane ready to cash in on struggling ace wanted by Chelsea, Man City & Man United

James Rodriguez

According to reports from AS, Real Madrid will look to sell Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United target James Rodriguez during the summer transfer window.

The Colombian international hasn’t hit the heights expected since joining the Bernabeu ranks in summer 2014, after claiming the Golden Boot at the World Cup, with his performances during the current campaign particularly disappointing the Real Madrid hierarchy.

Indeed, injuries have been a significant factor this season but his 18 La Liga outings have produced just five goals and whilst most would expect a £65million signing to command a recurring spot in the starting Xi, Rodriguez has found himself constantly shifted around the midfield and the right flank.

The 24-year-old’s frosty relationship with Rafa Benitez was well known but it’s the lack of improvement in form since Zinedine Zidane took the managerial reigns at the start of 2016 that has disturbed the club’s directors the most and they’re now prepared to listen to offers during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have been put in the frame to snap up the South American, who remains rated at around the €80million mark, with AS claiming all three clubs are ‘paying close attention’ to Rodriguez’s situation in the Spanish capital.
