Their priority target will be France international Paul Pogba, who flourished into one of the top central midfielders in world football under Conte’s direction at Juventus. The Italian gaffer also wants to bring in ten of his 18-man backroom staff from Juve, including assistants Angelo Alessio and Massimo Carrera.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail claim Mauricio Pochettino is set to finalise a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season. The Argentine’s young, industrious and ambitious Lilywhites side are now second-favourites in the title race and the club’s progress during his two-year stint has not gone unnoticed by Premier League rivals.

Indeed, Pochettino has been heavily mooted as a popular alternative to Jose Mourinho in regards to the Manchester United job, with Louis van Gaal widely expected to be relieved of his duties at the end of the season. Negotiations have been put on hold until the summer due to Tottenham’s title bid, but Daniel Levy is convinced they’ll reach a positive conclusion.
