According to reports from The Express, Manchester United look set to outbid Arsenal in the race to sign Atletico Madrid starlet Saul Niguez during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of Spanish football’s most exciting prospects since the start of last season, famed for his versatility and consistent supply of goals.

He’s netted eight times in 34 appearances across all competitions, becoming Atletico’s second-top scorer after Antoine Griezmann, amid a 2015/16 campaign that has seen him deployed as a centre-back, a central midfielder, a No.10 and a wide man.
Arsenal and Manchester United were both keen on striking a deal for Niguez during the January transfer window and found themselves linked again this month following news that the Spain U21 has rejected a lucrative contract extension at Vincente Calderon.
In fact, Arsenal are believed to have recently launched a £23.4million transfer bid for the 5 foot 11 ace, which the La Liga outfit swiftly rejected. But according to The Express – who cite Spanish publication Don Balon – that offer looks set to be eclipsed by United, who are prepared to up the ante to £31million.
The Red Devils reportedly held in talks with Niguez’ agent, the notorious Jorge Mendes, last week. But still hopeful of agreeing an improved contract, Atletico remain reluctant to sell one of their most promising youngsters during the summer transfer window.
