According to reports from Mirror Football, Real Madrid could sell Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema next summer.
Los Blancos are planning an almighty shake-up for the end of the season that could see two of their biggest stars, Ronaldo and Benzema, leave the Bernabeu – with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski already lined up as preferred replacements.
France international Benzema was linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the summer transfer window until ruling out a Bernabeu exit via Twitter in August.
Although countryman Olivier Giroud has been going strong this season, netting eight times across all competitions, Arsene Wenger will struggle to resist the chance of signing his long-standing strike target. In fact, it was claimed in September that the Gunners are ‘refusing to give up‘ in their pursuit of the 27-year-old – suggesting their interest has spanned beyond simply the last transfer window.
Likewise, Ronaldo’s future with Los Blancos has been the subject of much speculation since the start of the season, amid reports that he intends to leave the La Liga giants in summer 2016.
A sensational return to Manchester United, where the Portuguese won his first Ballon d’Or and Champions League title, has been mooted for some time, although reports this week suggest Chelsea are also hoping to sign the world-class winger in a £70million deal whilst PSG are also known admirers.
