According to reports from Le Parisien via Mirror Football, Real Madrid star and Manchester United target Cristiano Ronaldo told PSG manager Laurent Blanc on Tuesday evening; “I would love to work with you”.

The former Red Devil left Old Trafford for the Spanish capital in 2009 and has since affirmed his status as one of football’s all-time greats; winning three Ballon d’Ors, the 2014 Champions League title and amassing a rather incredible 326 goals in 314 appearances for Los Blancos.

But the Portugal international’s future with the La Liga giants has come under intense scrutiny in recent months, amid reports that he intends to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season – a theory prescribed to by Sky Sports’ La Liga correspondent Guillem Balague.

An emotional return to Old Trafford has been mooted, with Fichajes alleging in September that United are preparing an eye-watering £92.5million bid for next summer.

But many view PSG as the 30 year-old’s likeliest next destination should he decide to leave Real Madrid, with the Ligue 1 champions reportedly earmarking him as a star-studded replacement for bosman-bound striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Adding further fuel to recent speculation, Le Parisien report that Ronaldo whispered “Your team plays really well, I would love to work with you,” to manager Laurent Blanc, as the two embraced after Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. Los Blancos won the match through a freak goal from defender Nacho but the Parisians were the better side, with 59% possession and 15 attempts at goal.
