According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Barcelona B captain Alex Grimaldo; whilst AS report that Chelsea could sell Nemanja Matic, Oscar and Eden Hazard.
Mirror Football claim 20-year-old Grimaldo is one of the most highly-rated defensive prospects in Europe but growing impatient with the lack of first team opportunities at the Nou Camp. Barcelona B were relegated at the end of last season, meaning the left-back is now plying his trade in the Spanish third tier.
The left-back has resultantly refused to extend his Barcelona contract and Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation. Bayern Munich remains another option for Grimaldo, but his preference would be to stay on at the Nou Camp with greater assurances of first team football.
Meanwhile, AS report that 16th-place Chelsea could offload three of their biggest stars to fund a sensational move for Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich wants to make the former Manchester United winger the ‘standard-bearer’ of his ‘revolutionary project’ and plans to fund a €100million bid by selling Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and Oscar – all of whom have struggled for form this season.
