According to reports from The Daily Mail this afternoon, Chelsea striker Diego Costa has beckoned Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan to Stamford Bridge, describing the potential move as ‘fantastic’.
Agent Ahmet Bulut recently revealed the 28 year-old’s desire to leave Vincente Calderon this summer, claiming ‘three clubs… the best in English and European football’ are courting his services.
The three clubs in question are believed to be Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, whilst the Turkey skipper is expected to have decided his future by the weekend.
Reports this morning alleged Manchester United had a bid accepted for the former Galatasaray star – but he’s holding out for a move to Stamford Bridge instead.
And now former Mattress Maker Diego Costa has shared his opinions on Turan’s potential move. The Spain international won a Copa del Rey and a La Liga title with the attacking midfielder during their spell together in the Spanish capital.
“It would be fantastic,” Costa told Turkish newspaper Bugun. “Arda makes everything so much easier out on the pitch. Arda, Filipe (Luis) and I function perfectly.
“And Arda is such a great person. He invited us to eat at his house many times; I really liked his kebab. The whole team would go round to his house for dinner.”
