Arda Turan

According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester United have struck a deal to sign Arda Turan – but the Atletico Madrid star would prefer a move to Chelsea.

Agent Ahmet Bulut recently revealed the 28 year-old’s desire to leave Vincente Calderon this summer after winning a Europa League title, a Copa del Rey and a La Liga title with the Mattress Makers, claiming ‘three clubs… the best in English and European football’ are courting his services.

The three clubs in question are believed to be Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, whilst the Turkey skipper is expected to have decided his future by the weekend.

Turan rubbished reports claiming he’s already agreed to join Barcelona via his Twitter account yesterday afternoon, but The Express – citing Spanish publication AS – now speculate Manchester United and Atletico have struck a deal believed to be worth in the region of £29million.

However, they also claim Turan would prefer a move to Chelsea this summer – coinciding with reports from The Guardian, who allege Diego Simeone’s side have already offered him to the Premier League champions.

Currently on holiday, however, it will could be some time before a move to either club is officially announced.
